Eggplant

One time a few years ago, my mom tried out anew dinner dish on us. And let me tell you, It was the worst thing I have ever tasted!
So this is what happened. I came home from school with my brothers and the house smelled like chicken in spagetti sauce. Not bad, we thought. We like chicken. Well, turns out that wasn't chicken. It was eggplant. We cried and complained, but yet we found ourselves at the dinner table with a white slice of eggplant covered in sauce on our plate. It took forever for anyone of us to touch it. I was the first to put a piece in my mouth. I gagged and spat it out. It's not that the eggplant had a bad taste. If fact, it didn't have any flavor at all. I gagged because the sauce was so overpowering in my mouth that it made me want to throw up.  My mom pressured and told me that they didn't eat garbage, but I didn't touch it afterwards. She told me it was rude not to touch the food my host(her) provided. I countered that by saying it was rude when you throw up the food the host provides. She got angry, but there was no way I would at another bite. Eventually she just gave up and let me go up to my room.
Years later, I realize I might have been mean, but I still to this day would never eat another bite of eggplant barf.
